With a bit of a think toward the theme of 'Rock, Paper, Scissors', and a pinch of inspiration, this little mixed media assemblage was born.
The base of the shrine is the bottom half of a thrifted wooden box measuring approximately 3.5" wide by 5.25" tall. The shiny metal bit at the top is half of a vintage Christmas light reflector. The tooth you see was found on one of the walks on our property. There is a very interesting stone inside with fascinating crevices and divots. The image of the boy with a book in his lap is a copy of one from my personal collection.
Then there are a bunch of items from that old wooden box... a turquoise floral clip-on earring, old corks, roofing nails, little shots from a pellet gun, a marble, a very old penny, a well aged hinge/bracket thing-a-ma-bob and a pair of beautifully rusted scissors.
Finally, hanging down like a pendulum, is an arrow head on a piece of jute twine. I wish I could say that I found that arrows tip, but I did not. It was a purchase from one of our visits to the natural history museum.
If you have any questions about this piece please ask away :)
