Marigolds--what garden is complete without them? Calendula oil, extracted from a genus of marigolds, is known for its restorative properties, and is often used in creams, ointments, cosmetics, shampoo and baby wipes. It has soothing and skin softening properties. I have combined this oil with blood orange extract and honey--two other soothers-- in my handmade soap to bring you a wonderful, fresh and healthy treat for your skin.
I have artfully wrapped and felted the in soft merino wool roving and needlefelted a lovely marigold design that looks like a watercolor, only it’s made from wool. So now you can have soap and washcloth, all in one!
Squeeze under water until the soap lathers up and then gently exfoliate your skin. As you use the soap, the wool keeps shrinking around the soap and when the soap is gone, you are left with a tiny felted pouch that can be used as a scrubby, or cut open to store little treasures.
Many customers can't bear to use it right away, and like to keep the soap as a decorative sachet for a while. One of my customers has kept hers on her nightstand for months, and takes a whiff when she wants to relax. :-) Makes an awesome pincushion, too!
Keep in a dry dish between uses.
Since the designs are one-of-a-kind, they will vary slightly from the photo.
