This pendant is a based on the famous woodblock by the great Japanese artist Hokusai depicts an open sea wave threatening fishing boats off of Kanagawa. Less well known is this variation with its inclusion of a peculiar blue box in the sky. [*Statements may not reflect objective reality!]
Hokusai's original image has been cropped a bit to fit the square pendant format. The first 2 images show the pendant (please excuse any glare-- these have proven incredibly difficult to photograph!) and the third gives you a more detailed view of the image. (The large blue TARDIS backdrop is just for display and not included in your order ;-)
The pendant itself is metal (lead free) and quite comfortable to wear. It measures just over 1" (25 mm) square by about 1/8" (3 mm) deep. It has been finished with a crystal clear sealant that is scratch and water resistant. (It is not completely water-proof, however. An occasional accidental dunking in the shower or pool shouldn't hurt, but it's best to avoid that as much as possible.)
Included also is a free dog-tag style neck chain that is simple but attractive. You may of course want to put it on something fancier according to your tastes.
Please note each of these is hand made to order by me and may show slight variations. The pendant bezel may also vary slightly as suppliers tend to come and go over time.
Finally, these pendants are adult jewelry-- they are not toys and not meant for children. Thanks!
This is based on my growing Parodies Lost series combining great masterpieces with my own pop culture illustration artwork. As is probably clear, it is fan art and not an official BBC product!
