I enjoyed creating this beautiful art for the yard and garden using pieces of up-cycled and re-purposed glass to make a suncatcher that resembles a flower.
~ I started with a vintage cobalt blue dinner plate.
~ I placed a vintage iridescent glass serving bowl on top that has petaled edges and tips that catch the light nicely when outdoors in the sunlight.
This glass has a carnival glass type of sheen that plays on different colors depending upon the light.
~ In the center I have added a pastel blue glass bowl and a smaller vintage glass bowl that has the same iridescent finish and matches the larger petal tipped serving bowl.
~ Inside I added a frosted glass bowl in the shape of an open flower.
~ For an added touch of whimsy I have nestled an aquamarine glass pebble in the very center for an "eye".
I call this "Oceana" and it is a one of a kind piece of outdoor art. This is a large size and measures about 10 1/2 inches in diameter.
My garden art compositions are weather resistant and bonded together with a strong adhesive for durability.
They are resilient to rain, wind and sun, but just to be safe I advise storage indoors during the extreme cold of Winter.
My glass art has withstood many a Spring,Summer and Autumn storm here in my Midwest gardens.
My sister in Scottsdale, Arizona is testing some in her desert climate so I can gauge how resilient they are under opposite extremes.
We have both had great success!
You can display this art in your yard and see it sparkle in the sun, always "in bloom".
Or, plant it in a large pot on your deck, sun room or patio for a conversational item.
This comes ready to mount on a 3 foot tall piece of sturdy metal which has been painted with a rust resistant paint.(Included)
The metal rod will be shipped separately from the glass flower with simple assembly.
A hole has been pre-drilled for insertion of the rod into the rubber connector on the back of the glass.
(male/female assembly) very easy to assemble!
Everything you need is included, there is no need to go to your local Home Improvement store to purchase anything!
These are heavy to ship but I will package safely and securely. Shipping fees reflect the price of shipping two large boxes safely and securely from my home to yours. Local pickup is available if you are in the Peoria, IL area.
Note: Some minor wear and imperfections may be present on the glass as these items have been re-purposed and previously adored and used. I try to use the nicest pieces of glass available. I don't use anything that I would not be proud to display in my own gardens.
I ship promptly after payment has been received.
Thank you for your interest!
