This edition of Katniss' Presentation outfit, inspired by The Hunger Games movie, is an unlined, fitted, zip-front, lightly boned tunic. The fabric is a wonderful unusual slightly stretchy vinyl/PVC embossed black velvet. Embedded in the small shiny vinyl scales are tiny multi-color glitter specks that reflect the light and give the illusion of being lit from within. The form-fitted tunic is shaped through the torso with seams that are lightly boned and reinforced with decorative top-stitching. The neckline features a large pointed collar that can stand up or lie flat. The long sleeves have exaggerated bell-shaped cuffs and dramatic pointed shoulder epaulettes just like the movie costume. The cuffs can also be worn turned up. I constructed the tunic to be as versatile as possible by devising a clever way to transform it into Katniss' Presentation outfit: The full length "fire cape" of sheer red iridescent organza shimmers and sparkles under the light and attaches to the tunic shoulders with small hooks. The neck "fire" ruff is a separate accessory consisting of dagged shards of sheer organza shirred on to an adjustable cord that ties at the neck front over the jacket collar. You can wear the tunic alone or add the cape and ruff for the full effect.
This costume is available by CUSTOM ORDER ONLY and is available in US size 10 or smaller.
