This is a vintage outer space station woodwork pattern. It has been careful removed from a vintage book.
"The crafty thing about this clever layout is that you build it in sections, each one complete in itself. Start with the rocket takeoff site, for instance, and the kids can play with that until you finish another part. Bythe time the whole works is assembled, you can be sure the air will be alive with sci-fi characters, plots and ploys. For the sake of the many families who own sets of 3" space-age figures but have no suitable terrain for deploying them, the station is built to scale. Anticipating hard wear, everything is covered with plastic-laminate - even the bright, shiny decorations are made with self-adhesive vinyl - so this space station won't be hard to keep shipshape. Parts that move are operated by the simplest mechanisms - no complicated fixtures o install or arrangements too tricky for small hands to deal with."
The STATION consists of a STATION PLATFORM & EIGHT SECTIONS, which are :
1. PARK WITH DRAWBRIDGE
Drawbridge leads to the park area, where a gleaming sculpture of PVC pipe soars into space.
2. ROCKET LAUNCH PLATFORM
Rocket is hidden when platform of takeoff site is lowered and bifold doors are closed.
3. CONVEYOR-BELT BRIDGE
Invaders are thwarted by a conveyor-belt bridge between park area and living quarters.
4. LIVING QUARTERS
4A. TRICK STAIRCASE
Staircase to living quarters converts to enemy-defying slide with a flick of lever on side.
5. PERSONNEL LAUNCHER
Personnel launcher's platform, spring-operated, catapults figures into space.
6. SOLAR POWER UNIT
Simulated solar panels and distributor pipes provide the space station's "power".
Monorail capsule, made of a plastic cola bottle, is operated manually between stops.
8. WEATHER STATION
