It is made of 12 strands of hand made, cut and shaped metal tubular beads that have both a silver and a more brass-ish color strung on thick and very old (original) cotton multistrand string. The bracelet is divided in three parts by decorated pieced with granulation work. The two ends of the bracelet have two blue and two green ceramic beads. The two ends of the bracelet join to form the clasp part of the bracelet (the front) which also has delightful granulation and roping details. The clasp is a pin with serrated sides that slides into the four interlocking tubes to secure the bracelet. A truly amazing old bracelet that I estimate to be from the 30's if not earlier.
It is 15 cm (6") all around so it was handmade for a small wrist. Width is 5 cm (2") at widest. It wears beautifully and comfortably because the beads and the multiple strand allow for a silky wrapping around your wrist. Weighs around 50g
This is such a beauty and valuable! I'm loathe to part with it and it doesn't even fit me! I hope you will give it a good home!
