A note on the origin of the work this print comes from. It is a relatively scarce work by Edward Step & William Watson from color plates selected & arranged by D. Bois of the Natural History Museum of Paris. There were a total of 316 prints in the complete collection. Each print is brilliantly colored and highlighted with gum arabic, capturing the freshness and perfection that only a newly opened flower can have. The prints are superbly decorative in nature & are quite rare, so they are considered very collectible.
This print measures approximately 6 inches wide by 9 1/2 inches long and is in great condition given its age with the paper slightly toned & the colors very vivid. There is no descriptive text.
