The toy camera has a black textured metal body and silver metal on the top and bottom and around the lens. It seems to be modeled after an early SLR camera so I'm guessing it to date from the 1940s or early 1950s. There is a button on top that can be pressed down to trip the shutter. The metal bracket on top has viewfinder holes in front and back.
This is truly a toy or display piece -- there isn't a lens or shutter and the "camera" does not open. There is no manufacturer's mark, but it does not look homemade.
Measures 4 1/4 inches wide, 3 1/2 inches deep, 3 1/4 inches tall. In good shape with some scratches to the black finish.
