The steel frame is 2x3 inch steel tube. The tube is weathered and has variations which are both visually and texturally interesting.
The bed includes a headboard, 2 side rails, one cross support with feet at the foot of the bed, one support from the head to that same cross support and pine slats.
The frame is intended for use WITHOUT a box spring. To make the fitting proper I would like to know your mattress thickness before building. This allows me to make the bottom of the headboard design field line up with your mattress top. i.e no holes for things to fall.
The cedar headboard is aromatic Tennessee cedar. The wood is treated with a wonderful oil that in time hardens and preserves the wood. The wood itself is aromatic. Think cedar chest. The smell is subtle but present. The oil on the surface dulls the smell but I leave the wood untreated on the back for that smell to roam. If you don't want the smell I can treat the back as well and that will eliminate nearly all of it.
Size shown here is Queen. Same pricing for Double/Full
King: $1000 + $175 for shipping
Shipping is via YRC and is curbside.
As shown: Headboard height is 42" for the version with a mattress/36" for the version shown w/o a mattress. Rails are 6" off the ground. Alterations possible.
Assembly is easy and the result is a rock stable bed. No movement or noise. Hardware and a little wrench included.
If you would like to use this wood or another wood in any of the other Kraftig bed variations please inquire. Chances are good that I'd love to build one.
