This 100% silk fabric is known as flat weave crepe. The light weight softness make this a scarf you will be comfortable wearing any time of year. The fringe is 100% silk.
10"x57" plus 4" fringe on each end.
The size is approximate as the process of painting and steaming may alter the final dimensions.
I use only fine french dyes, no silk paint is used. This is important in keeping the natural integrity of the silk. The look and feel of silk renders it's luxury.
In using dyes, steaming bonds the color to the fibers naturally without any chemicals. The soft feel is totally left unchanged. Paint sits on top of the fibers. This can change the luster and leave a residue which can alter the softness and feel of the silk.
I custom mix the colors of dye I paint with and steaming keeps them most brilliant.
The hem is hand rolled with visible 100% silk thread stitching adding artistic character.
For proper care hand wash in cool water with a mild soap only (avoid bleach, harsh chemical washes and hot water)
Best ironed on silk setting while still damp. Gently comb the fringe with your fingers and hang to dry.
