Do you know the feeling when you're focused on something so much that you unwittingly hold your breath? It happened to me while making this necklace - I was so fascinated by the form it slowly been taking. I believe all these hard work, attention, care and thoughts I put in these necklace just made it to a talisman, a magnet to all good emotions.
The necklace has been inspired by nature (floral motives) and shapes of antique furniture. It was made to be a connector between you and nature, it is made to bring the piece to your heart whenever you touch it.
The vintage look I love is enhanced by the dark patina, that I brushed to get the distressed effect.
If you look closely at the photos, you will notice that pendant is three-dimentional.
Necklace has been handmade of sterling silver in difficult and time consuming metalsmithing techniques in my small studio. Hand cut sterling sheet has been adorned with filigree and floral motives by soldering a layer over layer. From beneath the pendant hangs beautiful bead of green onyx in fancy shape. Talisman hangs from sterling silver rollo type chains, that is adorned with 5 round beads of green onyx. Silver has been oxidised to get the rustic patina finish, then hand brushed and slightly polished for distressed effect.
Pendant measures 4,7 x 2,8 cm (1,8 x 1,1 inches); WITH green onyx it measures 6,8 x 2,8 cm (2,68 x 1,1 inches).
Length of chain: 64cm (25,2 ") plus 10cm (3,93") of extension. Thanks to the bigger size of rings in the extension chain, you can easily regulate the length of chain this way.
The chain is quite long, BUT necklace looks as good with shorter chain, so if you prefer shorter necklaces, just convo me about it.
