A vintage Native American medicine wheel/ dreamcatcher/ mandala. Handmade with natural sheep's wool, twine, rooster feathers, leather and turquoise.

This is a true showstopper for your home! This is a very large piece, about 28 inches long and 18 inches across. When I came across it while antiquing/ treasure hunting one day, I literally gasped with delight. I know that it will find the perfect owner here in the beautiful community that is Etsy.

The Mandala is an Indian symbol of Earth, Sun and eternity. Some Natives use it as a prayer wheel, with each row/color representing a prayer and the feathers, attached to the tails, carry the prayers to the Great Spirits. It is also said that the contemplation of the Mandala can restore wholeness and inner harmony.

This has an attached tag from the people who created this wonderful item. It was made in Tucson, AZ USA, but since I came across it decades later in Little Rhode Island, there is not much I know other than what is on the tag.

Thanks for viewing it and have a great day!
