Large wooden spreader knife kitchen utensil carved from salvaged Cherry wood. Take advantage of free shipping till the end of April. This is an 11 1/2 inch long spreader knife with a 1 1/4 inch wide blade for spreading all manner of condiments. It is a new design of handle that I like very much. I had a piece of wood on my bench and I looked and there was the shape in the wood. I can never just draw out a shape on paper, I have to see it in the wood first. I like this handle which is thinner in the middle and flares wider towards the blade. The edge is thin enough to cut soft cheeses and butter but not so thin that it will splinter. The long blade will reach to the bottom of a large jar of peanut butter or jelly. Made from Cherry wood. Finished with beeswax and mineral oil.
Try this for a snack: Take a graham cracker and spread on some cream cheese and top with sliced strawberries. You want to talk about something good!!
This utensil is "pre-washed" so to speak. The grain has been raised with water during the finishing process to remove any loose fiber ends so the spoon will remain smooth after you use it.
Care is easy, just wash in hot soapy water, towel dry, and apply some mineral oil or walnut oil every couple of weeks or you can buy some of our spoon oil finish which is Beeswax and mineral oil. A 4 oz. jar lasts for a long time and it will help to keep your spoon looking and feeling good for many years.
