Beautiful burgundy thick silk 1900-1912 dress with wonderful beaded patches in the front and amazing overall design. Excellent and wearable. Would be great for a theater production, an event or museum collection. It closes and opens with a series of hooks and snaps, which one can carefully open (they are strong/intact) beginning in the belt area. The lace section closes with eye hooks. The fabric is not disintegrating at all. Lining great. Came from an estate where 3 generations lived in the same Victorian. Found with other Edwardian and Victorian clothing that I have listed and sold. Stunning one of a kind piece which I have never seen the likes of! Fabric is a heavy quality silk with machine made lace and glass beads. Cotton areas inside. Looks phenomenal on the dress form, I can only imagine it in a museum or private collection.
