Jen Wickerman hated being called a “Preppy” but it did not sway her from her love for plaid. She would tell you that she liked classic patterns but it was all things plaid that floated her boat. She spent hours at fabric stores studying bolts of plaid, measuring widths of color bands and writing in her “plaid” journal, noting her favorite color patterns and warning against those that she felt clashed. When she went clothes shopping it was an all day affair as she tried on different plaid outfits and anguished over complimentary colored blouses. Her favorite color combination was plum, forest green and beige so when she came across a White Stag wool blend blazer with the perfect combination of those colors, she was nearly beside herself with euphoria. She bought it immediately and it was her favorite jacket until a few years later when she tired of plaid and became infatuated with herringbone.
