The lacquer technique that I practice is that of oil varnish or lacquer European. The varnish is mixed with pigments and brush-applied in layers, then sanded. I work according to the methods used in France since the 18th century while adapting new techniques. I had the chance to go to Japan and Vietnam to pursue the learning of the technique of lacquer. Today I work in this medium and I use this technique with a contemporary look.
My inspiration, I drew during my travels in the richness of "Elsewhere". Geometric, Aztec, Asian, I fashioned a universe governed by the fun. When I let my thoughts wander appear forms and materials to dress my creations. Lacquer, gold leaf, mother of pearl, shell egg, the combinations are numerous. I like the slowness of my job, duty each day applying a coating, advancing step by step. An intimate relationship is created between the jewel and I almost collusion .
