Beading is my joy, my passion, my love, my talent. I fell in love with beaded jewelry in 1944. My mother, sister and I lived in Johannesburg, South Africa. Mother collected marvelous African bead work. So off we would go to the villages with bags of beads, flour, sugar, small round mirrors and fabric for trade. I can still see those beautiful brown bare breasted women adorned with amazing colorful beaded jewelry.
The jewelry and the wall art are made with the ancient art of needle bead weaving that I learned from my sister, Hanna. Using a special needle, thread and a variety of stitches, I add glass and semiprecious beads to other beads.
The jewelry and the wall art are much more than beautiful. You have the opportunity to be empowered by a certain quality that I have imbued in each piece.
