Here is a gorgeous old gold filled 7j pocket watch size 18s cir 1907. 105yrs old and still works great!!
The total size of the watch with the case measures 2 1/8 wide with an added 15/16" with the lever and fob loop. Crystal has no breaks or chips. The original porcelain dial has a few hairlines as can be seen in the picture. The dial has the classic Arabic numbers. The pocket watch has some lovely engraved detailing along the outer edges of the case on both sides. The front and back covers screw on. The back has the most wear (see pics) - I imagine a railroad worker and/or gentleman who owned this carried it on him daily. The rear of the movement is marked "Elgin Nat'l Watch Co. USA" with the serial number 13339879 dating it to 1907. Behind the rear cover is marked "Fays Montauk No1, Pat Feb 19th 1884" and the numbers "79561". You can also see about 20 small marks made by the many inspectors who looked closely looked at this watch prior to it leaving the factory in 1907. WORKS and keeps near perfect time.
Simply a beautiful piece of history.
