The still life consists of three bottle forms, two tumblers and two fruit; an apple and a lemon. All pieces are made of low fire clay, so these bottles can't be used for utilitarian purposes. However, a dried flower or a twig placed in on of these would naturally blend in with this setup. All pieces are completely hand sculpted by using very thin slabs. No molds have been utilized in the process. The pieces have been treated with underglazes, engobes, glaze and oxide washes in a subtle, layered way. The surface of all objects is matte (completely non-reflective) and has just very faint traces of a glaze wash. The piece in its entirety would make a lovely, rustic visual statement in just about any space.
The tallest bottle measures approximately 13 1/2" in height.
The second and third images were taken by using flash, the fourth one shows all objects in bright sunlight. The varied lighting should give you a good visual of the subtle, pastel-like color of this piece.
