This guitar pick was shaped & sanded independently, it features a concave rough sanded thumb groove on each side to ensure a firm grip, & to also give the pick an incredible feel of control. The pick also features precision laser engraving on each side with a heart design that utilizes the treble & bass clef. This pick measures approx. 1-1/4"or 32 mm long X 1-1/16" or 26 mm wide, it is about 2.8 mm thick at the thickest part of the pick, but feels & plays thinner due to the thumb grooves on each side, the pick tapers down to a thickness of about 1 mm at the tip, & was designed with the guitarist in mind for comfort & playability, this pick is treated with a special oil blend, for lasting protection I let the pick soak in the oil to ensure that the pick is deeply penetrated, I then rub in a natural bees wax paste for a smooth & silky finish, while the concave sanded thumb grooves keep their grip for comfort & control, & if you perspire or moisten your finger tips, it will actually improve your grip. It may take a while to get used to playing with a wooden pick, but every guitar player that I know, simply can't live without their hardwood guitar picks. So why not take your guitar playing to new extremes, with the true tones that my handmade Artisan wood picks employ...They also make excellent gifts! Thanks for looking!
I do not know the actual genus of the apricot wood used, but the tree is in my own back yard, it is no longer living, & will be used mainly for some killer barbecue wood, & of course some more beautiful guitar picks, the wood has been seasoned for 3 + years and requires many processes to get just one pick out of it, but I guess it's just a labor of love, & you just can't beat the tonal qualities the wood brings out of any type of stringed instrument. Enjoy!
