I use the ancient art of embossing metal called chasing and repousse to form designs. This Celtic knot was chased into copper by hand, using steel tools I made myself. The process involves first stabilizing annealed metal in pitch and imprinting the design with thousands of tiny taps to the steel punch, chasing the lines along the metal. Then the pendant was domed for dimension and a bail with a stamped Newgrange spiral added.
The circular pendant is about 38 mm (1 3/8 inches) in diameter and it would hang 1 ¾ inches including the bail.
