Cream and yellow chambers highlight naturally formed crystal pockets. Look closely and notice that some chambers are filling with crystal pockets in the process of forming. See geology unfolding it's mysteries right in front of your eyes and still find yourself mystified by this ancient little creature. When turning this pendant you will see the rainbow colored opal, mostly red, shinning in the light.

Fossil is 1 1/2 by 1 1/4inches and wrapped with copper wire, including a copper loop at the top.
This pendant will slide onto any metal chain, necklace, or cord.

Ammonites are a group of extinct invertebrate animals that swam in the oceans even before the dinosaurs. Over their lifetime they grew by forming chambers that would eventually fill with gas leaving them the outermost chamber for them to live in. The inner chambers filled with gas creating a life line going through their body to keep buoyant. Even though the body of the ammonite has never been found fossilized, scientists believe it had tentacles and swam in the open ocean like a fish, rather than a snail on the bottom of the ocean floor.
