This is an interesting little button for the collector, or to use in a craft project: a hand-painted plaster button depicting a beach scene with palm trees. The back of the button is inscribed "La Canne a Sucre" (sugar cane), and "1946". I don't know why the scene is of palm trees when the button is labeled "sugar cane" - you'll have to figure that one out. As you can see, there is some wear on the edges and corners, mainly on the green paint. I think it could easily be touched up with a little enamel or craft paint. There is a metal loop shank, which is secure. It measures 13/16 x 11/16" and is about 1/4" thick.
