Several other skeins of this yarn are available at Alchemy Yarn.
I can wind this and/or any skein of this yarn into a center-pull ball at no charge. Please let me know in your notes at check-out if you prefer skeins or yarn balls/cakes.
All of my yarns are carefully unwound from quality pre-owned garments. I soak the yarn in Kukaburra luxury yarn wash which is designed to help restore the fiber's innate qualities. It is extremely gentle and contains tea tree oil which is naturally antibacterial and helps remove any impurities. My yarns are left smelling fresh and clean.
I hang my yarns to dry and this helps to remove kinks. If necessary, I will also steam out remaining waviness. Once in while, a stubborn yarn will still keep some memory of its former life, but never enough to interfere with its quality or usability.
Just as with some new yarns, occasional joins are inevitable, however I do my best to identify and avoid knots. Any breaks I encounter in 100% animal fibers are felted for strong, essentially invisible joins.
I love unraveling sweaters. I find it very meditative and believe it is a wonderful way to reuse high-quality, luscious fibers and be in tune with the earth by recycling. There is something magical about transforming the old into the new. Like the fairy tale, turning straw into gold... Yarn Alchemy! By purchasing these beautifully reclaimed yarns, you contribute to eco-consciousness and indulge your passion at the same time. How cool is that?!
*** I gladly take custom requests for color, fiber type and/or weight. I have a large stock of sweaters and will do my best to find what you seek. Whether you want an entire sweater's worth of yarn or a specific amount, please convo me to see if the yarn you need is waiting here in my Alchemist's studio.***
