Quilt has been machine pieced and quilted by machine, there are no ties or knots in this quilt, which will add to babies comfort. For those of you who are not familiar with the making of a quilt, the quilting is very important. These are the stitches that will hold the layers of the quilt together, now and through the years. The only fabric that will touch your babies skin in this quilt is cotton! The binding is doubled, 2 layers of fabric that have been stitched by machine to quilt front and then stitched again by hand to quilt back, this is the most durable way to make quilt binding. I just love the seamless look this method gives the quilt!
The batting used is mainly cotton with a small percentage of polyester, which gives the batting the needed durability to hold up through the years. It's a great weight, not to thin, nor to thick and feels wonderful! This quilt will be best washed gently in tepid water and air-dried.
This quilt measures 40.5 inches wide and 54 inches long, nice and long for babies crib and will easily go from crib to toddler bed.
