From the card back – The new Post Office at Washing D.C. adjoins the Union Station. It is the model Post Office of America. The immense work room occupying the center of the first floor is a maze of mechanism, belts, conveyors and chutes with sorting cases and files in between. Incoming mail is conveyed directly from the trains on electric trucks. It is then thrown on to other conveyors which rush it away to sorting tables and it is so arranged that a piece of mail entering or leaving the office cannot retrace its course. It is built of white granite. Cost $3,000,000
Published by W B Garrison, this wonderful card is unused. Overall the condition is good but I suspect this was in an album once upon a time as there is light toning at the bottom corners.
