Among the many hats that I wear, I am a gardener. I take pride in growing all of our own vegetables and many fruits in an organic garden. We know where our food comes from, how it is grown, and exactly how fresh it is. What a blessing! How I languish in the winter time while the earth is dormant until Spring arrives and I am able to work the soil and wait for the little green sprouts to shoot through the earth toward the sun.
This is my homage to the first sprouts of Spring, the Little Green Sprout Victorian style hat pin.
A six inch antique brass colored hat pin is accented with an arrangement of fresh green beads and matching antique gold findings.
A lovely swirled lamp glass "bud" is accented with a smashing antique gold floral bead cap. It is a little more unusual, and nicely detailed with swirls of flowers.
At the top resides a sparkling Swarovski bi-cone gem. Beneath rests another lovely lamp glass bead with more nicely detailed antique gold accents.
The hat pin has a lovely, elegant shape. The beaded portion measures two inches in length. The width is nearly 3/4 of an inch.
If you are new to the world of hatpins, consider their uses:
grouped together in a sunny location as sun catchers,
displayed on an antique vanity,
fanned out in a crystal perfume vase or vintage pin cushion,
pinned through a beautiful tapestry pillow,
arranged in a bridal bouquet as a keepsake.
Just plain beautiful things!
This hat pin will come packaged on a lovely hand-tied bouquet display card as shown in the last photo for gift giving or perhaps just as a treat for yourself. Presentation is everything. I hope you enjoy this wonderful hat pin!
Thank you for visiting my studio today!
Much love and seeds of happiness,
The Gaffney Girl
