This being another recycle project of mine, my bird feeders are made by using "gentle used" cups, plates and cut glass pieces.
I use silicone II to bond the ceramic/glass pieces together. The vase at the bottom of each feeder is used as the stake holder. Inside each vase I've glued a 1/2" copper cap. The cooper cap is to keep the vase from slipping to the side. All you have to do is center the cap over a 1/2" rebar or 1/2" copper pipe. One of the pictures to the right shows the inside of the vase.
As for the stake, you will need to purchase separately, at your local hardware store. Cost of rebar depends on size/length, so usually $2 to $4. In my personal garden, as a stake, I use 3/8" x 2' or 1/2" x 4' rebar. And as mentioned above you can also use 1/2" (or smaller) copper pipe.
