Ultimate 60s Style.
Taylor Smith & Taylor was founded in 1899 by Charles Taylor, John Smith & William Taylor in Chester, West Virginia. The plant was sold in 1971 & closed in 1981. Java Key is one of their more unusual patterns...there's not too much of this around. Cool colors, graphic design, classic 60s profile & weight... very, very midcentury :)
The 2 plates measure 10" across & .75" tall. The dishes are in beautiful condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or stains. The faces are clean & bright with only minor surface marks from normal, careful use. The pattern is very 60s ~ clean & graphic in rust & aqua blue. There is a color variation between the plates ~ 1 dish is more intense, the other softer (see pic 3). And the back sides do show a matte area of the finish (see pic 4 ~ I'm not sure what this is from). Still, these plates remain an unusual, very cool bit of midcentury modern tableware. Classic, graphic & functional :)
Shipping rates apply to the continental US. Your order will be well-packed (see my feedback) & shipped via USPS Priority Mail (2-3 days) with USPS Tracking. There is extra room in this shipping box :)
A word about shipping rates & multiple item orders... While shipping is carefully calculated on each item to keep your delivery cost low, if you're interested in multiple items it may be possible to save more by combining shipping. Email me with the items you're interested in, & I will reserve the listings while we work out a combined rate to ship the all the goods in the same box. If you purchase multiple items, the shipping charges may appear high because the shipping is calculated on each item individually. I will always contact you with an accurate shipping rate before we proceed and refund any overages to your Paypal account.
