This handmade Speaker Docking Station is carved from a White Oak tree found on family property. Here at RockAppleWood, we believe in natural selection when it comes to harvesting our wood. We let nature determine what wood we work with and when.
We harvest all our wood species from the California region from fallen trees, re-claimed, re-porposed, and standing dead trees. Every year storms come through the Sierra Nevada Mountains and blow over trees and break limbs. We give this wood a new life with purpose.
Now back to the Dock.
This Dock is powered by 2 five foot USB cords. One to charge and sync your iPhone or iPod and one to power your speaker. The USB cords provide power from any laptop or computer USB port or they can be plugged into a wall socket using the provided adapters.
You will get 1.2 watts of power that delivers a clean crisp sound. On the back of this dock you will find the volume control. You will be able to control song selection, etc on the iPhone or iPod. This dock will charge your phone at the same time it plays music. This dock also features an iPad stand. You can view your device landscape or portrait.
This White Oak Double Burl has wonderful grain pattern. Both the smaller burl that hosts the speaker and the larger burl that houses the electronics are superb in their shape and grain pattern. It has been brought through over seven carving and sanding steps! From powerful machine sanders to fine hand sanding and polishing. It has also been coated with a combination of beeswax, carnauba wax, and orange oil. This enhances the natural beauty and depth of grain in finished woods. This blend prevents further drying of the wood and deterioration of the finish.

Keep in mind this speaker dock houses one 2 inch diameter speaker that will not compete with your Bose surround sound system. This one of a kind work of art was designed to please the eye and at the same time give your iPhone a boost of sound.
