My daughter is a mermaid enthusiast and asked me for a tail, so I indulged her by making her one, and she is ridiculously happy! This is a handmade, shiny tail that can be worn in the tub by mermaid lovers size 2T-4T. It's made with a comfortable swimsuit material and crafted to be bathtub friendly, so the costume can be worn in the water. Please note that it is not really intended for use in swimming pools- the fabric will fade more quickly because of the chlorine and I'm sure it's not as aerodynamic as you'd like- but it can survive a dip for a photo op if that's what you're looking for (just have a swimming buddy nearby!!) The flipper is stiffened with a soft, flexible foam and provides a pocket for the feet, so little ones will not be able to walk around while wearing this outfit.

To care for the tail, hand wash and air dry. I find hanging it fin side up with a piece of plastic tucked between the foam (to keep it from sticking together) works well.
