Some of the 1930s and 40s percolators have a rocket like shape and design. Since they are often long past ever making a pot of joe again, an upcycled rebirth as home to the proverbial "Rocket Fuel" seems appropriate.
This old coffee relic has spent a few days in the Benclif Studio. We've cleaned it, removed the old electrical parts and installed all new UL approved lighting components.
Inside the old percolator is a candelabra socket with a red flashing C7 bulb. This lights this glass tip like that of a rocket buring during ascent. The base is equipped with a medium base (standard household) socket with a neon flicker bulb which obviously is intended to represent rocket fire.
The cup features a C7 neon flicker bulb and is suspended by wire that hides the electric cord and simulates a stream of pouring coffee and curling, aromatic steam.
The lights are controlled by the rotary switch located just above the vintage coffee can.
NOTE: C7 is a standard "screw in" old fashioned Christmas light bulb available at a local retailer or on line. All parts are UL rated and all wire connections are done with both nuts and additional tape and zip ties to keep them secure for years. The lamp comes with maintenance instructions on how to change bulbs, etc.
The coffee tin is a real, vintage piece and has its own rusty patina. Please know that you are buying a bit of history and all the scars inherent to many years of service.
Approximately 20" W by 20" H. ALL BULBS INCLUDED. Easy to maintain, but detailed maintenance instructions are included.
