Way up high in the barn's loft and through twirling, sun-glistening strands of hay, I spotted my first glimpse of the beautiful hayloft butterflies. They were sun-kissed by gold in the farm colors of fresh, sun-dried hay. They romped and played for bit, from bale to bale, eventually coming to rest on an old weathered hay pallet's wooden plank. With their wings tipping slightly opened and then slightly closed, they seemed to wink at me, calling me closer for an even better view.

My seven Hayloft Butterflies are handmade from stoneware clay, glazed in the beautiful colors of hay and mounted on an old, weathered hay pallet's wooden plank. The glaze colors include matte speckled creamy wheat, satin to matte bright cream and pastel khaki tan, speckled butterscotch trimmed and tipped in rust, frothy and creamy antique white and a beautiful creamy matte sunshine-bright straw.

The small butterflies are 2-1/8 inches and 1-1/2 wide and 2 inches long. The medium butterflies are 3 inches wide and 3 inches long and the big butterfly is 5-5/8 inches wide and 6-1/2 inches long.

The overall size is roughly 15 inches wide, 6-3/4 inches tall and stacks off the wall approximately 7 inches. To create even more dramatic appeal, their old weathered hay pallet plank is mounted on a block enabling them to stack off the wall and cast beautiful, ever-changing shadows. The mounting block is stained in a silvery gray weathered wood color and includes 2 holes for wall mounting on nails. It also looks great as a table piece, resting flat on its mounting block as pictured in the second photo.

Hayloft Butterflies is a naturally dramatic, country rustic art piece that is sure to lift the spirit of all who set eyes on it. It's a shame my camera can't seem to capture its true essence as it truly seems to glow all on its own without the assistance of a sunshiny day. It's pure country and pure sunshine!
