I crafted this beachy, nautical, American feeling quilt from triangles of a variety of coordinating reds and blues, including a slightly abstract starfish print, stars, circles, plaid, and even a red flannel.
The backside is solid red cotton, easy to wash and perfect for every day use.
The quilt is quilted with straight lines through and alongside each of the triangles. I also stitched in the ditch on the sashing. The stitching creates an 8 sided star on the backside, reminiscent of sailors returning home at night by following the stars in the sky.
Lightweight cotton batting.
The generously sized quilt measures about 48" by 61", making it perfect as a lap quilt, throw, toddler bed cover, wall hanging, or infant crib quilt.
