This listing is for the PATTERN ONLY, not finished item. This hat is knit in the round, with simple knits and purl stitches. Instructions for pointy top or rounded crown of hat are both provided. Photo tutorial for the pinch & purl method of knitting with art coils yarn included as well! Combine commercial worsted weight wool yarn with handspun coils art yarn for a WOW hat that knits up super fast!
Yarn requirements:
approx. 50-60 yards Heavy worsted to bulky art yarn (coils, granny knots, beehives, twists, cocoons, etc would work)
approx 65 yards worsted weight commercial wool yarn (cascade 220 was used in the hats shown)
Needle size: 10.5 US (6.5 mm) circular needle 16" length AND 4 size 10.5 US (6.5 mm) double point needles, or whatever size it takes YOU to get a good fabric.
Gauge: Coils yarn-- approx 3.5 stitches to the inch (2cm)
Gauge: Worsted yarn -- approx 3.75 stitches to the inch (2cm)
Yarn used in pattern is Treasured Coils Handspun, available on my etsy shop, but you could use any kind of art yarn!
