I have come to terms with the fact that I’m a bit obsessed with beautiful fabric! I’ve also finally realised that even if I sew non-stop for 3 years I won’t quite finish using the stash I’ve collected, so, heartbreaking though it is, I’m selling some of it to make a bit of space!
Here we have 3 complete Indian saris - I don’t cut them up into fat quarters or to meet a certain weight. Most of them are used, and in excellent condition, but do vary, so please read the descriptions - I’ve been as accurate as possible.
Sari 1:
Pink silk chiffon. There is a very faint orangy colour sort-of splodged all over - I can’t tell if this is a deliberated tie-dyed effect or if it’s been washed with something orange! Otherwise excellent condition - no pulls, but one small mark.
Measurements: 79” x 35” / 197 x 89cm
Sari 2:
Huge maroon synthetic chiffon with a large silver sequined pattern covering a third of the width, with one metre at one end being completely covered, and 30cm at the other end being plain. Excellent condition - I would have thought it new but then I found a small mark and some damage at one end.
Measurements: 216” x 46” / 549 x 117cm
Sari 3:
Fine mauve silk chiffon with an olive green border. Reasonably good condition - a few pulls.
Ideal material for all kinds of crafts including dress making; cutting into ribbons for weaving or knitting; making into fabric flowers; bags; dolls clothes; scrapbooking; home furnishing … the list is as long as your imagination!
I’ll be listing more bundles of silk, chiffon and cotton fabrics, all in co-ordinating colours / colors and some with amazing embellishments, so please visit my shop: www.etsy.com/OshunCreations
Do let me know if there are any particular colours / colors you’re after - I’ll see what I can find!
I’m sorry if I’ve mistaken the proper name - I know there are also Lenghas, dupattas and scarves, but I’m not absolutely certain of the differences.
