Hi there, I'm Sara and welcome to 3crows. I try to paint a world of quirk and whimsy, smiles and sweepies, from cats to dogs and foxes and owlies! I'm inspired a great deal by the wonderful array of talents and voices right here on Etsy. From beautiful to functional and all the in betweens, what a wonderful alternative to shopping big box retail! For my part, I hope to offer a bit of a smile here and there.

The pet portraits I paint have become a very special part of my work. I really try to capture a bit of a family's dynamic and so when someone comes to me for a portrait, they get to participate by telling me all about their pets and their relationships with them. They send me photos of their homes and vacations, they tell me their family stories. Each family is so quirky and sweet, sometimes even a little sad, and I just feel so honored to be able to make something that captures a family's unique love. They let me in and for a little bit I feel a part of that family, I know a little bit how it feels to be IN that family, and in that way, I feel part of the big family that we are all a part of, animals and people alike.

Sara Pulver of Sea Breeze, NY, has been painting from imagination, from life, and when necessary, from imaginary life for over 20 years. She lives the quiet cottage life amidst the din of an aging lakeside amusement park, gardening, cooking and creating, with her 2 dogs, one cat, and fellow artist Felix Caruthers, all curled quietly at the foot of her bed.
