About

sass: (slang) having a spirited attitude; possessing an impertinent, insolent, or saucy quality.

Hi! My name is Naomi, and I am an ex-fashion design major who wasn't satisfied and eventually received a B.A. in women's studies. It seems fitting that I would now design and sew cloth feminine pads. In October I will be putting my business on hold for a year while I earn an MA in a Women's Studies program called Women, Violence and Conflict. So, any purchase you make now goes to help fund my education, which in turn will help me help other women.

About

I created Aunt Flo’s Sass Rags shortly after I started to use reusable cloth pads and became annoyed with the high price and inconvenient design of most rags on the market. For myself and others that may be dissuaded from switching to cloth pads for the same reason, I decided to create my own all in one design. No inserts or covers to worry about, just straight forward heavy and light day pads that snap around your panties, look cute and are never shameful. Cloth pads are easy to use, wash, and will leave you feeling fresher than disposable pads since cotton fibers breathe and you can change them as often as you like with out worrying about cost. Since many women also worry about having to change their rags when they’re not at home I have created some cute rinsable, wipable, waterproof pouches that the used ones can be stored in during the day. Sass Rags can also be used as an un-bulky back up for those that use menstrual cups or 100% organic cotton tampons (safest tampons on the market).

Aunt Flo's Sass Rags never take being labeled as imprudent or insolent as an insult. Giving some attitude and resistance to the norm is what Aunt Flo's Sass Rags are all about. I want women and girls to know about alternatives to the mainstream menstrual products and feel comfortable and knowledgeable about their bodies. Shame, silence and secrecy are descriptions that embody the add campaigns for the mainstream menstrual products and are descriptions that I never want associated Aunt Flo's menstrual pads. So take charge, educate yourself and discover the comfort and peace of mind that can be achieved with alternative menstrual products, whether through Aunt Flo's Sass Rags, trying out a menstrual cup or learning how to make your own economical cloth pads. It's what Aunt Flo used to do.
