Although Bands of Gold has been in existence since 2003 making jewellery and other items, I had a break for several years whilst I concentrated on other things, including my health. In August 2010 I was diagnosed with breast cancer and because of this I do a range of breast cancer awareness items where 50% of the sale price is donated to a breast cancer charity.. About

I am now retired and able to concentrate on producing items I love. I use quality components and in a lot of my items I try to use natural products like freshwater pearls, gemstones and either stirling or fine silve.r, some of my items even include a "band of gold"! Recently however I changed the name of businessto my name.... to reflect the fact that I am an artist.....I am my business.

I have my studio near the water of the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia. I am surrounded by a vision of nature that inspires me constantly; from the ripple of water on the oceans and lakes to the patterns on sand left by the tides or the myriad other creatures that call the coast home. I see beauty in nature all around me. I love rainbows and dewdrops on cobwebs, the silhouette of trees in twilight, patterns on duck feathers.....I want to recreate that detail and wonder in my art.

I can only create items that I see as beautiful and memorable. For that reason the designs are ones I would use or wear myself. Some are a little quirky but I hope they give you as much pleasure using them as I have making them.My passion statement is "Creating tomorrow's heirlooms today...with love" I would love that my unique jewellery could be passed down through the family.

I recently discovered the wonder that is precious metal clay....talk about alchemy...I feel like a magician as I turn clay items into silver...and even more magical is the idea that I can use this to create something personal for each of you, perhaps your children's names on a pendant, or an affirmation pendant with special words, symbols or initials that mean something just to you. If you have a particular theme or idea you would like me to capture in a jewellery item for you let me know.
