Hi my name is Kathy Bills and I have lived near the shores of Lake Erie all of my life. But,it wasn't until 10 years ago that I discovered the serentity of walking the beaches, listening to the waves and the thrill of finding a piece of beach glass or pottery.

In books I have recently acquired, I have learned the fascinating sources of specific colors and shapes of the glass.Beach Glass has a history in and of itself.

The art of making beach glass jewelry is a lot like mastering a puzzle...a large puzzle. For instance earrings can take hours & hours of finding the same shape and color out of your collection for just the right pair. Creating a specific look in making a pendant, whether to add beads or crystals or not takes some creative thinking. Who might wear this? What would you, the buyer desire? Is this going to be trendy or classic? I have to admit I still struggle with improving my creativity!

Drilling beach glass is the most difficult part of the process. Drill bits must be fresh and even the veteran jewelry makers can end up with a broken piece. The hardness of the glass varies depending what it was originally used for.
But,it has become my passion. I hope you enjoy wearing it!
My jewelry pieces can also be found at the Olive Branch, Classic Jewelers and Great Lakes Driftwood, all in Girard, PA; at Beach Zero just as you enter Presque Isle, the Sassy Peacock in Erie, PA, and in the Artisan's Shoppe in Wellsboro, PA.

And be sure to check out my jewelry in the Nature Shop and Gallery at Presque Isle located in the Tom Ridge Environmental Center. Most recently my jewelry has been placed in Cindy's Consignment Shop, in Geneva, OH, right up the street from the Lodge at Geneva. Check them out!
