Connie Blechle's Profile
I have a small farm called Breezy Ridge Alpacas, where I raise Suri Alpacas, also where I make many suri apaca fiber items. The alpacas are treated with special care by us personally. I hand process some of our alpaca fiber myself here at my farm. I also buy fiber from other farms. Sending a portion to mini mills for roving or yarn. I gently hand wash the fiber before I make my items. I then wash again when finished to be sure they are fresh and clean using gentle wool wash.
Suri fiber is rare and prized for its luster, fineness, slick handle, cool feeling, drape, elegance, and strength. No other animal fiber possesses all these features, and makes Suri alpaca highly sought after worldwide. Less than 10% of the world population of alpacas are suri alpaca, making them a rare breed.
