I am a stay-at-home mom living in the Pacific Northwest who loves to create pretty things for her family and friends. (My motto? Make it pretty.) From party decorations for little girls' birthday parties to scrapbook pages and memory keepsakes celebrating special days and the everyday, I love making things!

Why Catshy?
#1 It's an anagram of Cathy's. #2: My husband's nickname for me is Cat. #3 I'm shy. #4 It kinda sounds like catchy. #5 It's me. #6 I like cats. #7 My six-year-old daughter approved.

I was inspired to open my shop after a friend, who curates the art shows for a local cupcake shop, asked me to be her next featured artist. Within a month, I had conjured up half a dozen garlands made of paper die-cuts, felt, yarn, photographs and mini scrapbook layouts. I created original felt art in embroidery hoops. I created my own business cards, show poster and other promotional materials. I created a blog. Everything seemed to fall into place. Getting face-to-face feedback from customers, family and friends (and those who attended my artist reception) was the push I needed for this shy mom of two to go to the next step: Open an Etsy Shop.

Many of the pieces in my shop, CatShy Crafts, originated from work in the art show (which I called the Pretty Crafts Show) or things I have created for my own home. My favorite materials are patterned paper, kraft paper, vintage buttons, felt and baker's twine. My favorite tools are my paper trimmer, micro-tip scissors and good old needle and thread!

Before I ever had dreams of opening an Etsy shop, I was an avid scrapbooker and mamarazzi. My scrapbooking and photographs have been published in several national magazines including: Creating Keepsakes, BHG Scrapbooks Etc., Scrapbook Trends, Cards, Memory Makers, Digital Scrapbooking and more.
