Living in the luminous and magical city of Paris, I can't help feeling inspired to paint. But sometimes city life becomes exhausting and I long for the tranquillity of my family home in the South West of France. Here life is sleepy; slowly sipped coffees at the village cafe, watching the world amble through the colourful produce market, long countryside walks collecting mushrooms, spotting wild orchids and attending village festivals. The climate and soil are perfect for growing my favourite flowers; roses, wisteria, and irises, that I find most of my inspiration pottering around the garden. So when the weekend draws to a close and I find myself back in my shoe-boxed sized apartment in Paris, I keep a little of that sunny garden in mind as I start another painting.
