About

Cedar Creek Studio Inc. is the product of a lifelong pursuit of a variety of crafts by the Caverly family.

Brenda has long been an aspiring painter who often photographs landscapes, buildings and other items and scenes of interest, and then applies water colours to canvass at the family studio. Brenda's eye for detail has resulted in numerous commissions from individuals who provide a photograph of a treasured scene, which she converts into a water colour painting.

Stained glass projects have long been a hobby for the family members in general, subsequently, as years have passed, a small studio was opened at the family's residential location at 4474 Old Scugog Road in Hampton Ontario.

The products of the stained glass hobby eventually lead Brenda to sell some of the products at small craft shows in the GTA area of Ontario.

Custom glass projects followed with the addition of soy candle making to complement the showroom stained glass projects.

John retired from his lifelong work in 2005 as an Ontario Building Code, and Litigation Expert in the Provincial & Supreme Court System and became more involved with his wife Brenda and their daughter's pursuits with crafts to complement the growing hobby studio.

In 2006 John and Brenda inadvertently became aware of natural stone in the Mediterranean area of Europe. The decision was made to initially import three varieties of stone for landscaping purposes, which could also be used as decorative stone in craft projects, as well as centerpieces for tables and water fountain projects.

The few varieties of stone, soon expanded significantly, and now incorporates numerous landscape columns of White Onyx, Driftwood Stone [petrified wood], and Basalt as well as over 40 varieties of the more colourful stones, many of which are manufactured into stone products such as candleholders, trivets, coasters, centerpieces, fountains, and a variety of other giftware ideas.

From procuring unique stone, some of which are precious and semi precious gemstones, Cedar Creek Jewellery was started and has grown to be one of our mainstays in the studio. It was decided in 2010 to investigate an online web store, hence, Etsy was chosen.

Cedar Creek currently handcrafts table fountains, larger deck/patio fountains in conjunction with providing a variety of sizes of custom water fountains/water features for individual clients as well as landscapers and landscape architects.

It has become apparent that the business will continue to evolve through new ideas which come from within, as well as from client's requests; clients requests are always welcome.

As more individuals have become aware of the stone productions, some smaller craft shops and boutiques have shown interest in selling various products at their establishments.

John and Brenda Caverly with their three daughters and their husbands are all involved in the craft operations in varying capacities.

We sincerely extend an invitation for you and your family and friends to make Etsy a favourite on your computor; new items and ideas are always forthcoming, so come back often.

As a visitor to our shop, you percieve things that we do not notice, as such, please let us know what you like, and most of all what you do not like - we welcome your ideas.
