About

About the Artist: Christina M. Lee

I started working with stained glass and precious metals in college in the mid 1980's, and majored in Jewelry Design. I enjoyed working in those mediums for several years, then I took a glass fusing and slumping class and became fascinated with the effects of fusing multiple pieces of glass together and firing it in a kiln. In August of 2004 I bought a glass bead making kit and taught myself to make beads (lampworking).

I enjoy creating beautiful jewelry out of all different elements: glass, wood, paper, gold, silver, clay and Precious Metal Clay (PMC). I love creating beautiful things for myself, and for other people to enjoy and wear, "Art You Can Wear."

In the spring of 2006 I learned silk painting and have added hand painted silks to my creative endeavors. I loving painting the silks, it is fun and fascinating watching the paint flow into the silk. This past year I have been adding more fiber arts to my creations.

A little history about myself and my family: My husband, Rick, and I have made our home in Bradenton, Florida for the past 19 years, and we love it here. We have been married 41 years. Rick builds guitars. We both enjoy being creative.

We have 2 children, a son and a daughter, grown and married. They, and their wonderful spouses have given us 7 wonderful/beautiful grandchildren, ages 16 to 23. We thoroughly enjoy being grandparents and spoiling them.

I love teaching art, especially to my grandchildren, and enjoy taking them to art museums and galleries.
