Many have asked how I learned modern crazy patch, Barbara Randle, the crazy patch Goddess from Birmingham, Alabama taught me to love the art of modern crazy patch. My crazy patch bags start by cutting strips of a variety of different fabrics including silk, rayon, polyester, linen etc... 2-3" wide and then sewing them on a foundation fabric, muslin or canvas. Once then entire surface has been covered I start adding decorative machine stitches. I use all of the decorative stitches and utility stitches on my sewing machines and I use many different weights, colors and types of threads. Many of my items include whimsical free motion designs.
