You would wonder why Creationsbym2? It's actually a short form for Marianne Maticic, the designer, that's me. I am married to a wonderful man named John for 35 years; the mother of 2 grown sons, a daughter-in-law with another one joining the family in early 2011. The highlight of my life is being a grammy to 3 wonderful little boys. I've 2 pets: Maxi and Snickers, our two dogs(poodles) who do a great job making me laugh all the time.

I have always been crafting in one way or another: painting t-shirts, making banners for church, teaching and participating in liturgical dance, and crocheting since I was in 4th grade when the nuns at our Catholic School asked if I wanted to learn how to crochet the lace on the altar cloths. The journey had just begun.....

Crocheting is the most comforting and soothing form of activity I know. I start with a chain, have something in mind and before I know it, something wonderful happens. It's as if something/one takes over. Suddenly, what I had in mind when I started, takes on a life of it’s own and a new creation is born. I started this shop to share my creative gifts so that I can feel productive after retiring from a career in nursing for 30 years.

The dolphin is my inspiration, my totem/muse. According to what I read in Native American Animal Totems, the dolphin is a brilliant animal who reminds us to take the time to breathe thoughtfully and purposefully and to be playful and creative. I guess that's why I rarely follow a pattern without adding some new touches to it. Whatever I am doing, a part of me always becomes a part of the creation and to me it creates an aura and a life of it's own.

I believe that "life is God's gift to you, what you do with it, is your gift to God. I start by doing what is necessary, then do what is possible, and suddenly I'm doing the impossible."

I am a member of the greatest crochet team known as CreateCrochet Team. We are an etsy team, but we are more like family. We are from all over the world and it is so exciting to share ideas, stories, joys, hardships, comfort and encouragement for each other:
