Deb Hartmann-Healy's Profile

About

I create because I have to. I have been told my work is whimsical, weird, fun, and unique. I like to think of my work as a snap shot from another world, a world that only I can see and share with all of you. Most of my paintings are very bright and colorful. I like working in the abstract but I consider it recognizable abstract. Much of my 3-D work is the same but more toned down from my 2-D work. I get inspiration from my wall reliefs and sculptures from fossils, shells, and microscopic organisms. I also love the juxtaposition between fun and uncomfortable; like dancing on glass.
I grew up and live outside of Philadelphia. I attended Moore College of Art and Design from 1994-1998. Though my career is my art, my job is as an airbrush artist at a local company. I love what I do and I love what I create. Art is my life.
