Dee Burdick's Profile

About

A native of Maine, I have spent most of my life in Southern Maine and New Hampshire. I live in a wonderful area where there are barns with cows in the pasture and yet the ocean is only minutes away. Memories of my grandparent's farm are often expressed in my pastoral scenes. The memories of lobster fishing with my Dad influence my seascapes. My flower gardens provide endless inspiration for both my pottery and paintings.
Although painting is my first love, I also find joy in my clay creations. I have a small studio where I am able to throw on my potters wheel or work on handbuilt pieces. I am not a production potter. I rarely make the same thing twice! Thanks to my husband, who built my kiln, we enjoy the challenge and mystery of an occasional raku firing as well. I'm a very blessed woman!
